What are the classifications of textiles?

In ancient times, silk fabrics were basically named according to fabric organization, fabric patterns, and fabric colors. Modern silk continues to use many of its old names, such as crepe, damask, thu, and silk, as well as some loanwords such as georgette and taffeta. According to the organizational structure, raw materials used, processing techniques, texture, appearance, and main uses of silk weaving varieties, it can be divided into ten or four categories: yarn, silk, silk, spinning, silk, crepe, brocade, satin, thu, ge, tweed, velvet, silk, etc.

1. Yarn: Silk fabric, also known as plain yarn, is entirely or partially woven with uniformly distributed eyelets (i.e. "eyelets") formed by warp yarns.

2. Luo: All or part of the fabric is made of Luo weave silk, which is intertwined by warp threads and presents pepper holes. There are three types: Zhiluo, Hengluo, Hualuo, and Suluo.

3. Yarn: Silk fabric with twill weave or twill variation weave, with a diagonal weave on the surface of the fabric, with a light and thin texture. In the early days, the surface of the fabric showed a layered mountain shaped twill pattern, which "looked like ice", hence it was called silk.

4. Silk: A natural silk fabric with a smooth, smooth, and crisp texture, using a plain weave.

5. Spinning: A light and soft silk fabric made with plain weave, untwisted or weakly twisted warp and weft threads.

6. Brocade: A colorful color woven jacquard silk fabric made of heavily woven, multi colored silk threads. Brocade is a famous jacquard silk fabric, which has been said in ancient times to be "woven and collected as literature, and its price is like gold". There are three types of brocade: Shu brocade, Song brocade, and Yun brocade.

7. Satin: A silk fabric with a smooth, shiny, and dense appearance using satin weave or satin variation weave.

8. Thread: A silk fabric made of plain weave, using long silk as warp and cotton or other yarns as weft, with a thick texture and clear weave. There are two types of threads: plain thread and floral thread.

9. Ge: A silk fabric with flat weave, twill weave, and their variations. The warp and weft are sparse, while the warp and weft are fine and coarse. The surface of the fabric presents horizontal shuttle patterns, resulting in a thick texture.

10. It is a silk fabric made of various fabrics and thick warp and weft threads, with a rich texture and a woolly texture.

11. Velvet: A silk fabric made entirely or partially of fluffy tissue, with a surface showing fluff or loops.

12. Silk: A silk fabric made of plain weave or variable weave with tightly interlaced warp and weft. Silk is the general term for silk fabrics. Its characteristics are: the silk surface is straight and fine, with a smooth and comfortable feel. Silk fabrics without other obvious features can be called silk.

13. Yarn: A silk fabric made of plain or fake yarn, with a light and thin texture that presents perforations.

14. Crepe: Silk fabric that uses plain weave or other structures and uses techniques such as warp and weft reinforcement twisting to create a wrinkled effect on the fabric. Its characteristics are: the silk mask has bidirectional wrinkles in both directions, soft luster, elastic hand feel, and good anti wrinkle effect.
